Kalman Lee is a small, family owned t-shirt boutique. Run by a brother and sister team, they produce individual, handcrafted designs in limited numbers and printed on American Apparel t-shirts.

Design and develop a simple, individual site that represents the handcrafted nature of Kalman Lee designs, providing a shop window to let their work speak for itself and a simple checkout process to let people buy their designs.
Approach
A simple approach that encompasses the individuality that’s woven into every one of the unique designs featured on the site. With a simple architecture that lets you choose and buy a t-shirt in just a few clicks.
Solution
We wanted the site to have an organic feel, so kept it deliberately loose, warm and friendly. With minimal content and clear contextual help in a friendly tone. Keeping the t-shirts on a muted background and capturing them in a fluid, casual way that evokes comfort, quality and individualism.

The homepage showcases new designs so repeat visitors always get a fresh welcome. The majority of the site and navigation is above the fold, so users don’t have to scroll and can see a range of enticing t-shirts from the off.

Keeping the layout fresh and clean, we were able to hero the t-shirt, enabling people to see a decent sized image with size and colour options, and price clearly displayed, along with the option to zoom in further.

Being transparent about stock availability further reinforces the limited nature of these t-shirts, updated in real time, using dynamic content means better stock control and no disappointed customers.
