Branding and campaign
The DJoust competition is an annual DJ competition that sees the next generation of talented DJs from across Europe battle it out through a series of live heats. The winner of each DJoust receives a sought after residency, a relevant prize and heaps of exposure.

Develop the DJoust brand to raise awareness and increase the number of DJ entrants and competition followers. Progress the new brand through various media formats to enhance the competition with rich visuals as it grows.
Approach
Develop a brand that visualizes the true essence of the DJoust competition for applicants, successful entrants and the ever-increasing number of competition followers. Create visually stimulating designs and promotions across a range of media to advertise the competition.
Solution
We created a brand which represents both the battle between DJs and the pride in winning the competition through the symbolic use of a shield. The logo was created with several variations each allowing good translation across a range of media.

The logo can be used in a static or animated format. This allowed us to add even more character to the DJoust brand through enhancements in digital formats.
A mixed range of advertising formed a crucial part of the marketing strategy; we designed press inserts, magazine spreads, posters, flyers and various online campaigns.

We created and updated a repeating showreel compiling sponsors spots, competition details and DJ listings which was played on plasma screens and projection reels throughout the competition venue.

The DJoust 2007 competition had 10 times more DJ entrants and 20 times more followers than the previous year.
